Shimoggies - The Online Pitch

First of all I would like to thank you for visiting this Blog, be it by accident, link, you wish to understand more about Shimoggies or because Shimoggies may have peaked an interest.

I understand you may be very busy, that is why the next section will be an Elevator Pitch, that will take no more than 30 seconds to read.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Elevator Pitch

Shimoggies is a fun, fast, frantic, funny, gameplay and personality focused game for Apple and Android Tablets.
Shimoggies will take players to a never before explored theme, where the rival dispute between Docile and innocent Ninja Cats known as the Shimoggies and the crazy, mischievous and naughty Pirate Rats known as the Pirats will become one hilarious, colourful and enjoyable portable experience.

Gameplay turns the players fingers into the fluid movements of the Chosen Shimoggy itself, from slashing swords, throwing items, drawing symbols to cast mighty Chi attacks and multiple interaction options within combat.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gameplay

Main focus of gameplay is the touch screen controls. Using the touch screen you are able to command the Shimoggy to perform many different commands, such as swinging his sword in 8 directions, throwing items, blocking and many more unique and simple way.

To put a vision in your head, think of Mario and Luigi RPG series on the Handheld systems, then fuse that together with Fruit NInja. During combat the player will will be positioned at the left side of the screen (Or right if they are left handed) and will use their fingers to fight and defeat the Pirats in fast paced turn based action gameplay.

Gameplay is fresh, but also very familiar to those who understand the basics of RPG. Attack the enemy until they have no health left, you win and continue. If the player looses all their health they lose and must try again and re-think strategy.

Here are commands, how and when to do them:

Attack:
As soon as a fight starts the player can choose many different options from items, attacking, meditating and being defencive. To attack you must swipe the Shimoggy towards the Pirat to engage in close combat, during this the player can swipe their finger in 8 directions. Depending on the direction depends on the way the sword is swung. Attacking deals damage, get the Pirat to 0 health to win the fight, this is the main way to fight.
After attacking for so long the Pirat will try and counter, you can tell by the Piats animation that he is about to attack, in order to dodge this swipe the Shimoggy away from the Pirat to dodge and leave close range. After this normally the Pirat will charge the player and force them to be defencive.

Defending:
Blocking comes in 3 different inputs and each input must be used to dodge certain attack types. Attack types come in different categories and colours, regular attack (Green) rapid attack (Blue) and power attack (Red). As a Pirat attacks they will glow in one of these colours quickly before attacking.

Regular attack (green):
A regular attack is the most common and easy to block, just as an attack is about the land tap the Shimoggy to block it, easy. Sometimes multiple regular attacks  can happen in a row, stay on guard and block!

Rapid attack (Blue):
A rapid attack is an attack the Pirat does that is to fast to use a regular block against as it will break the Shimoggies defence and cause damage. To block this attack touch and HOLD the Shimoggy, this will allow him to reflect the flurry of attacks.

Power attack (Red):
Power attacks are to strong to regular block and will overpower a rapid block. in order to dodge a power attack the player must swipe the Shimoggy away from the attack in order to avoid it completely. Power attacks hit HARD and should be avoided.

As the game progresses Pirat will chain together different attack types in order to defeat the player, the player must be aware of what attack is coming and act accordingly.

Chi attacks:
Coming soon...

Concept Art

Drawing Concept Art is a hobby of mine, so here I will add pictures I have drawn to do with the Shimoggies game. All designs and images are my own and can change with time and input.

Shimoggies:

Who and what is a Shimoggy? Well, they are the heroes of the game of course! Well, one in particular is, that being the Chosen Shimoggy! Chosen by an ancient prophesy Chi Spirit known as the Comb Spirit. More information on the story will be in a different section.

Chosen Shimoggy:

Docile, clumsy, innocent and confused. Being shunned aside due to his lack of skill and ability this young Shimoggy is sent to do only the lowest form of tasks. One day when his mission was to collect berries off a legendary tree known as the Spirit Tree the Pirats attacked, defeated and captured all other Shimoggies during the Chosen Shimoggies absence.

Then a faithful encounter occurred, a little blue Spirit known as the Comb Spirit presented itself and pronounced this little Shimoggy as the Chosen. However doubt looms, as the Spirit was told the Chosen had unmatched skills, agility and complete control of Chi, this little fellow does not. Yet.

Pirats:

The devilish enemies of the Shimoggies world. Naughty, greedy, crazy, strange and stupid creatures. However those weird traits set aside they all show deep respect to their Captains and Head Captain.

Grunt:

The cannon fodder. Very weak on their own, but seeing them alone is an incredible rarity. They rely on numbers to overwhelm their opponents, even though they are the weak they should not underestimated.

Co-Captains:

Of the thousands of Piratships under Captain Scabs control, each ship has its own "Co-Captain". These are stronger unique Pirats who work under Scab, but command the Grunts. All of them have their own unique design, combat style, personality and story.

Wet Noodle:

Originally a Grunt who disliked swords and guns and instead used his limbs as a powerful weapon. Wet Noodle is a name given to him by Psycho, a mad scientist who has been experimenting on him. These experiments allow Wet Noodle to transform into a hulking muscular power-house with the sacrifice of speed and flexibility.

(Early Design)

Dubes

Dubes is one of the first Co-Captains encountered. He appearance is very tough and angry, but this guy is always on the receiving end of pain that it is hard for him to keep his "Hard-guy" act. His trait is that he has two swords, his name came from 'Double'. He is also the tutorial of "Rapid blocking", a technique the player must learn to progress though the game. (Gameplay will be explained in another section)

Captain Scab:

My latest as of Christmas 2014, this is a new artstyle and I realy like it, I think more will be done in this style.

Captain Soil

Co-Captain Soil, head of demolishing and renovating Shimoggy villages.
